Some of our ministries require Virtus training, background checks, and/or a Code of Conduct to be completed before volunteering. For more information see the next tabs.

• JACS JAM: SJA's annual parish festival (year-round planning & 3rd Sun. of Aug. event)
• Confesstivals: one-day events with multiple priests for Confessions (Lent & Advent)
• SJA & KC Fish Dinners (Fridays during Lent)
• Parish Councils: Pastoral, Finance, SACS Advisory, & Hands of Christ Boards
• Liturgists for daily, weekend, Holy Day, & special Masses: Sacristans, greeters, ushers, readers, and Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
• Extraordinary Ministers to the Homebound: bring the Eucharist to those who are unable to attend Sunday Mass
• Altar Servers: daily, weekend, Holy Day, and funeral Masses
• Choir and Instrumental Music Ministry: Sunday Masses, Teen, & Joyful Sounds Children's Choir, funerals, and special services
• Eucharistic Adorers: Spend time with our Lord in the Eucharist by committing to a Holy Hour. Sign up for a weekly Holy Hour on your own, with a group, or as a substitute on an email list to fill vacant openings
• Rosary leaders: prior to daily and Sunday Masses and on special occasions
• Welcome Sunday Hospitality: serve donuts & refreshments (September - May) and welcome new parishioners and guests

In response to the Charter for Protection of Children and Youth, the Archdiocese of Minneapolis and St. Paul offers online training sessions for all adult volunteers having regular and/or unsupervised contact with children and youth. The program specifically addresses how entire parish and school communities can protect all of God’s children from sexual abuse.

This program is called: VIRTUS: Protecting God’s Children
It is required training for all volunteers working with children, youth, and vulnerable adults. Virtus consists of online training, a code of conduct, and a background to be completed online. See the link below for a new user guide to walk you through signing up.

If you are a first-time registrant the process will take about 1½ hours to complete. If you already have an account you might need to have it reactivated and renew your training and background check. Your account may have lapsed and become inactive, so please call Juanita Menke at the parish office at 952-445-1319 with any questions.
