Catechesis of the Good Shepherd began 60 years ago with one atrium in Rome and has since grown into an internationally utilized program. Catechesis of the Good Shepherd uses Montessori principles to create a space for the child to ponder, to wonder, and to discover God. The atrium is a dedicated space that allows the child to enter more deeply into discovery and to serve as a bridge between the classroom and the church.
We could use a room assistant with us each week. If you are available to stay in the room most weeks to be present as another adult, and to assist the lead catechist, you will receive a discount on your tuition.
You will be receiving updates from the atrium every week. These updates will let you know what we are working on and give ideas for you to use at home. If you are interested in learning more about Catechesis of the Good Shepherd or would like to spend some time observing in the atrium, please contact Maureen Daly at 952-687-1501.
This year, we will have a Level I and a Level II atrium at SJA. Classes will run from September 22 to May 18, 2027.Cost: $150/first child. $50 each for second, third, and fourth children.
